Involved

We want to hear from the community.

On 4 December 2025, the NSW Government issued a Gateway Determination directing the While extensive community consultation has taken place over the last 3½ years, the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure has now opened a formal public exhibition process. This is an opportunity for the community to have their say on our proposal and show support for the much-needed, site-appropriate housing and creation of new public open space.

You can now make a submission directly to the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure through the NSW Planning Portal.

Further information relating to this proposal, and how to make a submission, is available on the portal. The public exhibition is open until 5pm Tuesday 21st April 2026.

There will be a further opportunity to submit feedback directly to Ryde Council during the DA public exhibition period. We will continue to provide information on the planning process as further details come to hand.

We aim to be open and inclusive in our engagement and ensure that all Marsfield Common news is accessible, relevant, timely and meaningful for the community. We place a priority on encouraging genuine participation and putting the people of Ryde at the centre of our proposal for the TG Millner site.

Our
Principles

We look forward to continuing our engagement with the Ryde community and other key stakeholders in relation to our Marsfield Common proposal. Our guiding principles are:

  • Ensure that the former TG Millner site is revitalised to achieve its potential and the needs of the local community.
  • Help meet the Ryde housing targets, by directly by adding more diverse low-rise housing choices in an established area already serviced by infrastructure.
  • Unlock the long-term privately-owned TG Millner Field and deliver more family homes and a new public District Playground for all neighbours to enjoy.
  • Ensure site-appropriate housing, specifically designed recreational spaces for the local community and increased tree canopy on a scale that exceeds Council and State Government targets.
  • Secure the financial future of North Ryde RSL and Eastwood Rugby Clubs – the long-term owners and custodians of TG Millner Field since the 1950’s.
  • Reconnect today’s community to Marsfield Common through new neighbours, new local access, new usages, new opportunities, and new ideas.

Thank
You

We would like to thank everyone in the community for their continued support of the Marsfield Common planning proposal throughout the process to date. We look forward to working closely with the community through the next phase of the community engagement process.
